Description
Ten Ren’s Earl Grey tea is harvested from the central mountains of Sri Lanka and scented with the oil of bergamot. Grown at elevations over 5000 feet above sea level, this high quality tea is carefully selected and scented to exacting standards. Tea brewed from Ten Ren’s Earl Gray has a clear deep red hue. The taste and aroma is rich with sweet citrus undertones and lingering briskness. In the early 19th century, a Chinese nobleman presented this tea to the prime minister of England, Earl Grey, hence the name of this tea. Earl Gray is one of the most popular black teas in the world and may be enjoyed hot or cold with or without sugar, cream, and lemon.
The water used to steep this tea should be at the boiling point, 212°F (100°C). Use about 2.75 teaspoons (3 grams) of tea leaves for about every 5 ounces (150 milliliters) of water. A steeping time of about 3-5 minutes with more or less time is recommended depending on the desired concentration.
